  • Translate into seven more languages: Japanese, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), French, Italian, German and Indonesian.
  • Serifu itself is now in Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German and Indonesian too: it follows your computer's language, or pick one in Settings › Interface.
  • Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German and Indonesian are lettered in capitals.
  • Default font lists the languages you chose a font for; Add a language adds another.

Webtoons: import a strip, translate it page by page and export it whole. More text is found, and text on a plain background is removed without a retouch.

  • Webtoons: when you import, choose Webtoon instead of Pages. One tall image, or its images in order, is joined and cut into pages at the blank space between panels, read from top to bottom. Each page is read and translated like any page, for 1 credit.
  • Images that are not the width of the others are marked: show only them with Another width, then Remove these N or Remove this image.
  • Export a webtoon as One long image or As the slices it came in.
  • More of the text on a page is found, such as captions and lines lettered at an angle.
  • Text outside the balloons on a plain background, such as a caption box or narration on white, is now removed before the translation is lettered. Only text on the art is left for Retouch this page.
  • Removing the text in a balloon keeps the balloon's frame and the lines around it, such as a burst balloon's rays.

Retouched blocks are lettered in bold, and English for vertical text reads across at a comfortable size.

  • After Retouch this page, each block's translation is lettered in bold, with an outline in proportion to its size where the original had one.
  • Where a block's original ran in vertical columns, the English now reads across from the top of the original, at the original's size and inside its panel, instead of being squeezed into a narrow column. Two blocks side by side share the space between them and no longer overlap.
  • The font, size, direction and colours of every line can still be changed in the editor.

Large speech bubbles are cleaned like any other, and a tidier project list.

  • A very large speech bubble, such as the one on a chapter's first page, now has its original text removed before the translation is lettered, like any other bubble. For a page translated before this version, choose Read and translate this page again.
  • The project list shows each volume's cover, name and pages, without a progress row for every language. Each language's progress is on the project page.

Translate a volume into more than one language, pages translated in order, and a Windows build.

  • Translate into another language: a volume keeps every language it is translated into. Pick one on the project page; the pages are read once, so another language is only the translation, at the model's price a page. Each language has its own progress, lettering and export.
  • Translate in order: pages are translated one after another, each with the pages before it as context, so names stay the same through the volume. Switch it off in Project settings, or when you make a project, for a faster run.
  • The project page can show only the pages in one state: done, to retouch, translating, queued, skipped, over the allowance, no text.
  • Pages with text on the art are marked To retouch after a run, on the project page and in the editor's line list.
  • Joined speech bubbles: each bubble's line is read and lettered on its own.
  • A page that fails is tried again by itself, and a failure says what went wrong.
  • The service light under your balance is green when all is well, yellow when the service is busy, red when it is down.
  • Windows: the first build. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows a SmartScreen notice on first run: choose More info › Run anyway.

  • Every action has one name across the app, the site and the docs, in English, Chinese and Japanese.
  • Chinese: credits are called 积分 / 積分 everywhere, as on serifu.net.
  • A price is shown once, with its unit, next to the action; buttons just name what they do.
  • Box, read and translate shows its own price before it starts.

Choose the translation model; re-translate without reading the page again; retouch only the text you pick.

  • Choose the translation model. Each project has its own; the default for new projects is in Settings. Reading and translating a page is 1 credit, whichever model.
  • Re-translate the volume, Re-translate this page or Re-translate this line with another model, without reading the page again: the model's price a page or a line. Undo brings the old translation back.
  • Read and translate this page again is now in the editor's toolbar: 1 credit, for a page that came out wrong.
  • Retouch this page removes only the text you pick on the art: 2 credits for each block you pick. The screentone behind it stays, and your translation is set in the original's size and colours.
  • Lines Serifu found on the page can no longer be deleted: clear the translation or turn the line off instead.
  • Serifu tells you when the translation service is busy.

Retouch this page: the original text on the art removed, your translation set the way it was drawn.

  • Retouch this page (asked first) removes the original text drawn on the art and sets your translation in the original's size and colours. Undo brings the page back.
  • On a retouched page, turning lines off, deleting them or adding new ones keeps the clean art, free.
  • Box, read and translate: on a retouched page, the boxed area shows the clean art.
  • Sound effects keep their translations.
