What is Serifu?
Serifu translates manga, manhwa, manhua and comics and letters the translation into the page. Use it in your browser on serifu.net, or in the app for macOS and Windows.
Serifu translates the comics you own and gives each page back lettered: the original text removed, the translation set inside its bubble. It reads Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, and translates into English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), French, Italian, German or Indonesian. The app's own screens come in the same languages.
There are two ways to use it, with the same account and the same credits.

Start in the browser to see what Serifu does with your pages. Use the app when you want to fix the lettering yourself, retouch text drawn on the art, or keep a series consistent across volumes.
What happens to a page
- Read. Serifu finds every bubble, caption and sound effect on the page and reads its text.
- Translate. The lines go to the translation model with the page itself and the two pages before it, so speakers, names and numbers stay right across the volume. In the app, your story notes, characters and glossary go with them.
- Clean and letter. The original text is removed from each bubble, and the translation is set in its shape, in a comic font.

What you need
- Comics you own or have the rights to translate.
- An internet connection: the reading and translating run on Serifu's servers. No graphics card, no models to download, no API keys.
- For the browser: Chrome, Edge, or Safari on a recent Mac, iPhone or iPad.
