What is Serifu?
A desktop manga translation editor that runs the heavy AI in the cloud.
Serifu translates manga you own, page by page, and keeps every line editable. It is built on Koharu, an open-source manga translator, with one big change: the large models run on our servers, so you don't need a graphics card, model downloads or API keys.
What happens when you translate a page
- Find the text. A small detector on your computer finds every bubble, caption and sound effect.
- Read and translate. The page, the crops of each text region, your glossary and the two previous pages are sent to the translation model, which reads the Japanese and writes English that fits.
- Clean. Text inside bubbles is removed on your computer. Text drawn on artwork is redrawn by an image model.
- Typeset. The English goes back into each bubble as an editable text layer.
What you need
- A Windows or Mac computer. No graphics card.
- An internet connection while translating.
- Manga you own or have the rights to translate.
